From a family of artists, Marilyn has specialized in drawing, stained glass and collage. She was a career art teacher and AEA member. During that time she served as an Association Rep defending teachers and best practices. Marilyn also completed Political Action School, AEA State Leadership Academy and Threat Assessment Training. She has also served as a negotiator, legislative liaison, School Board and Bond Election Chair, and worked on numerous campaigns and initiatives.

An elected Precinct Committeeperson, Dr. Victoria Iyamba serves as the 1st Vice Chair of Legislative District 5 and Co-Chair of the Black Engagement Committee for the Maricopa County Democratic Party. Passionate about civic engagement and community empowerment, she works to strengthen grassroots organizing, develop leaders, and ensure diverse voices are represented in the democratic process.

Dr. Iyamba is also an organizational change management and transformation leader whose professional experience spans government, higher education, and nonprofit organizations. She holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University and is dedicated to helping both organizations and communities navigate change and create lasting impact.

Tim Sparling was born and raised in Southern Illinois. After graduating and volunteering for roughly a year, he relocated to Arizona to attend law school. He graduated from the Sandra Day O'Connor School of Law at Arizona State and worked as a public defender for many years. He is now Founder and Managing Member of Sparling Law Group and Consulting and proudly serves his community as a business leader, trial attorney, and legislative advocate. He currently serves as a Member of the Arizona State Bar Committee on Appointments and as Senior Board Member for Beyond the Hurt, a local nonprofit assisting domestic violence survivors and single mothers with dependents.

Tim has a long history of volunteer service in the Arizona Democratic Party. He started working with the Party in 2017 and served as First Vice Chair, Finance Director, and elected Precinct Committeeman of LD26 based out of Tempe, West Mesa, and the Salt River Reservation. He continued in those roles before moving to Phoenix in 2020. He also engaged in campaign work and acted as the strategy officer and Interim Finance Director for the Will Knight 2020 Campaign before launching his career as a legislative advocate at the Arizona State Capitol. He continues to advocate for Democratic Party causes at all levels of government to this day.

Born and raised in Southern California, Jimmy Parchment-Chavez’s passion for public service and advocacy began after moving to Oregon in 2002. While attending college, he became involved in campus politics, an experience that ultimately led to an internship with a state representative and sparked a deeper interest in political organizing and community advocacy.

From there, Jimmy became involved in the fight for marriage equality, spending the next decade working as an organizer on campaigns advocating for LGBTQIA2S+ equality and the freedom to marry. That work gave him firsthand experience in grassroots organizing and reinforced his belief in the power of people coming together to create meaningful change.

Jimmy moved to Arizona in 2015 and, after stepping away from political organizing for several years, has recently returned to political and community involvement with a renewed commitment to putting his passion into action. He is particularly passionate about building stronger communities, expanding civic engagement, and ensuring that every person has a voice and a place in the political process.

Jimmy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and an MBA from the University of Arizona. He brings together his background in business, education, organizing, and advocacy to support the work of building a stronger, more inclusive Arizona.

Abraham is a Citizen Architect. His office is located above the Arizona Informant at 1301 East Washington Street in Phoenix. He and his business partner, Patrick Hallman, “are the most know, unknown architects in Arizona”. “When things go wrong, then they call us!” If I’m not in the office, my partner, Patrick, maybe there!

Aside from the business of architecture and real estate, he is currently, the Chair of the Phoenix Library Advisory Board, the past Chair of the Phoenix Board Adjustment, the Chair of the Greater Green Gables Neighborhood Association, the past Chair of the Trellis Board of Director. Abraham holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California.
